KY House Welcomes Students in Our Daily/ Honorary Page Program

Dear Boone County Friends,

Since serving as your State Representative, I have had so many terrific students spend the day with me as participants in the Kentucky House of Representatives Daily Page Program.

The Kentucky House of Representatives offers two types of paging opportunities during our Legislative Sessions: Daily/Honorary Pages and Session Full-time Pages.

Our Page Program is a great opportunity for students to experience the policy making process first hand. Daily/Honorary Pages should be between the ages of 10 to 18. Although the Page is sponsored by their Representative, they perform a valuable service for all Representatives and staff by delivering messages, delivering bills, running errands, and copying material.

The Page Supervisor or Page Mom is in charge of the Daily Pages. The Page Mom reviews with the Daily Pages where they are to be stationed in the House Chambers during the session and instructs them as to proper decorum while serving.

Once the Speaker has gaveled in the House for the day, only Legislators, staff and Pages are granted House Chamber privileges. Moms, Dads and Grandparents are welcomed to accompany the students, and I will make sure you each have House gallery passes for the day.

Those interested in serving as a House Page, students or their parents, may contact my Frankfort office at 502-564-8100. Please ask me for me, if I am unavailable, Ms. Sandra Etherington in my office will be able to assist with your Page request.

Look forward to seeing you in Frankfort!
