This Veteran’s Day, we take pause to honor those who have so bravely served this country and protected our freedoms and ideals, our nation’s military men and women. A task not for everyone, but for those who choose to answer the call, it is a decision steeped in love of country, commitment to every citizen young or old, and to preserving American exceptionalism.
Each and every Veteran forms part of the fabric of our Nation’s history. As State Representative and a grateful daughter of a WWII Veteran , thank you to ALL our service men and women for your noble sacrifice. Until their passing, every Veteran’s Day, I had the tradition of taking my two favorite WW II Veterans… my Dad, John “Bill” Cartwright (U.S. Navy) and my Father-in-law, Ernest “Ernie” Wuchner, (U.S. Army Flying Tigers) to lunch. The treasured memories of those two guys I will forever hold in my heart.
Today I had the honor to visit with a very special friend, 93 year old WWII Army Nurse Corp Veteran, Frances Jessie Wiehebrink. Thank you, Mrs. Wiehebrink for your service to our Nation.
We remember the brave men and women serving today and their noble sacrifice, and vigilant service protecting the foundation of liberty and our beloved nation and keeping alive the American dream for all our children.
God bless each of you for your noble sacrifice!
May God bless our Nation and the Commonwealth of Kentucky!
